Or any other country for that matter. I’ll spare you the gritty details so I won’t get technical and explain what a VPN is or how it works.

I use a service called Witopia (personalVPN™ (Basic), the second option on this list). You essentially hide your location, i.e I’m living in Jamaica but online I can make it seem as if I’m living in America, China etc.

Witopia costs $5.99 USD per month or $49.99 USD per year. If you don’t have a credit card then get Scotiabank’s Visa debit (Basically a debit card that you can use online).  After you’ve signed up for Witopia go to: https://my.witopia.net/login. Enter your username and password and click login. Once you’re logged in under my services click “Download Client Software”. Once you click that you’ll see this. Download the client for whatever operating system that you’re using ( Only available for Windows and OSX at the moment.  If you’re running some flavor of linux then you probably know how to set up your own VPN

Follow the instructions to install your client. Once you’ve installed your client open it. Click  ”Quick connect: screenshot”  to connect to an American Gateway ( which is what you probably want to do because you want to use Hulu etc). If you’re fancy you can click ” Advanced Connect”, you can then choose a gateway in North America, Europe, Asia, South America etc. Once you attempt to connect a prompt will be displayed asking you to enter your witopia username and password ( you would have created this when you were registering). Once you’ve entered your username and password and connected your new virtual location should be displayed, like so: screenshot. That’s it! Have fun using Spotify, Netflix ( The American version, because the caribbean version is crap), Hulu etc.

Bonus Tip

If you want to use your Scotia Visa debit card in the American iTunes store to purchase apps, music etc go to Shipme.me  create a free virtual US address, call Scotia bank and tell them you want to change your address to the address generated and attach the card to your iTunes account. Your billing address has to match your card address in the iTunes store hence the reason for doing that. \o/
