The 10 Day Challenge.
On March 3,2010 @ 7:21 PM I disabled both my Facebook and twitter account. Why? no other reason but to challenge myself. Challenge myself by taking away things that provide solace for me. A few days ago I opted to “give up” something for lent. Sad to say that failed horribly; for many reasons really. Poor planning and deciding to do such a thing on a whim did not help at all. I should have at least prepared myself mentally for the days leading up to “D-Day”. So, this time around I’m giving up 2 things I like love dearly. I’ve prepared myself mentally, so that should help.
Doing this will help me to challenge myself in other ways–Post this “10 Day Challenge”. It will help me to challenge my procrastination habits, my resolve, my insecurities etc.
With that said I will be for the next 10 days updating this blog post with a sentence or two on each day leading up to the 10 days starting tonight.
Day 1: I’m not so concerned about what is happening on Facebook, I’m probably more curious about Twitter.
Day 2: Suddenly 10 days seems like a long time. Perseverance!
Day 3: Day 3, I’m a mess. I especially miss twitter. I know to some this may seem trivial, but imagine becoming very acquainted with something only to have it taken from you in an instant. Here, a scenario: You have an awesome car– an Audi for argument’s sake. You drive this car to work everyday. You love your car dearly and your comfortable with it, but one day you decide to challenge yourself. You decide to use Public Transport for 10 days, i can guarantee you that after the third day or so you’ll start becoming irritated. If you don’t think so, try it. challenge yourself. Give up something you love for 10 days and keep me updated by commenting on this article or do it on your own blog and post the post link here. *sighs* 7 more days!
Day 4: When you’re preoccupied you tend to forget about the things that “matter’
Day 5: How quickly the time passes. My source for Inspiration, Zenhabits.net recently did an article that really puts things into perspective. An excerpt: “If you choose to give your attention to your friends, family and other loved ones — really give your attention to them instead of only half-heartedly while also checking text messages and emails and other updates — your life will be rich in many ways.” Read the full article here
Day 6: 10 Days? Ugh, this is a joke. Friday here i come!
Day 7: It really gets easier each day. Then again, it may be because this hiatus is coming to an end.:)
Day 8: There is no greater inspiration than good friends, 2 days to go.
Day 9: On Day 9 I decided to end my hiatus from Facebook and Twitter prematurely.

I Never Thought I’d Be So Nostalgic At Such A Young Age…..
I remember the days when $20JA could buy me a patty, now it costs $80. I remember when $10 could carry me home from the town, now it costs $50; I remember when you could purchase a “box lunch” as we Jamaicans call it for minimum $100, now it costs close to $200.
I never thought the day would come (well i thought it would come, but not quite so soon) where i would actually sit down and look back at the “Olden Days” so early where things were considered as uhm..cheap, or so i thought. Times have surely changed, at such a rapid rate, it’s quite unbelievably, it’s somewhat depressing, i fear what the future will be like. There are so much things to be depressed about while on the flip there are so many things to be joyful about, the world has surely changed and is still changing. Apparently Greed, Power, and deceitfulness rules this world of ours; if you can’t beat them, why not join them, i for one WILL not get left behind.
I think i’m getting old…..maybe, just maybe. I just like hugging my mundane thoughts (does that even make sense?)
*sighs*
The Media’s Bitch…
The media is a powerful tool,it can make or break you. I mean seriously, couldn’t the media turn me into rapist if they wanted to, what if it was written up in all the major newspapers, announced on all radio stations, posted on many blogs and broadcasted on TV stations that i was a rapist, they’d go on to say how cruel i was to that one girl(ROFL), would you not believe them? I surely would, once we hear it being broadcasted we instantly believe without even thinking about it rationally, well most of us.
Do you really think Paris Hilton or Britney Spears or anyone else the media has turned into a monster is as bad as the media make them out to be. People like Leon gobble this up(Saying how stupid and crazy Paris Hilton is,just because it’s all over the news and everyone is saying it, but i secretly think he’s fascinated with her). I can bet you anything she’s not that bad off camera, but why not accept it? After all, it’s entertaining.
We’re still friends Leon, keep it real:)
Conspiracy Theory: Food Industry + Medical Field =Evil
I know, it sounds crazy, but what if the food industry and the medical industry were in colloboration, not for something good, but for something sinister. It might sound weird but it always crossed my mind, so i felt like writing about it.
What if the food industry produced food that gave us new sicknesses? that the medical industry created and have cures for? And when consumers develop new illnesses, cancer etc, they visit the doctor who will continue to make money. When this happens the medical industry pays the food industry for evil scheme. Does that sound crazy anyone? feedback if you will, i want to hear what you have to say
Why I Retired Entrecard
![]()
Well some may have noticed, others may have not, entrecard on my blog is no more, the reason is simply, it’s time consuming and to put it simple time like that for me is non existent.
I also think it will fade out soon enough, initally the hype was there, but now i’m not sure, anyhow goodbye entrecard, you gave me little or no hits:P, but i guess that’s my bad.
