Total eradication does not seem plausible (without God himself) but we must agree that the sexual advertisements, film, music even jargon has spiraled out of control in the past years. The distribution of condoms in school would be a complete waste of time who ever doing that can give me the money my college fee needs paying it could help me. Let me tell you what would happen if free condoms are issued it will be on the streets downtown or round town and even at the distribution site after issuing them out we can do and check of all the condoms left on the ground it would be a waste of time and resource. Parents need to accept their roles for social problems affecting their kids that's what you are their for especially fathers to talk to their sons and mothers to their daughters. Both parents need to assert themselves in curbing this run away train of unprotected sex and even sex on a whole at such an early age. But on the more serious side .... all I have to say is you are obviously bubbled in your own world without realising the seriousness of society today... it is riddled with all sorts of problems and in many cases we need to reinvent ourselves and our strategies. This has nothing to do with old or young ... its simply understanding and accepting the realities of our time. I think this dialogue is very healthy and commendable for young people. The truth is, we need to reason more. We have a culture that fails to use our God given resource called the brain. We are cowards when we fail to engage our leaders, legislators and those affected (teens) in these discussions. I agree that the horse has gone through the gate, but everyone must take responsibility. We have friends, children, relatives etc. who we know are arming themselves and how many of us really care to put our life on the block, stick our necks out and tell them they are destroying themselves. We need to take responsibility and end some of the slackness. We need to examine some of the so called “rights” we say we have and explore the greater good of a better society. I call on the legislators to look at what we have done to our parents, teachers and children. We have taken a much of the responsibility of parenting and instruction, through the disguise of abuse and have placed all the responsibility on those (children) who can’t even decide what is good for them or not…. Due to the fact that the "moral fabric" of the land is worn and thus, abstinence campans have drastically failed...leaving the only other option, which is to limit the "right to the pursuit of happiness" our teens possess by controlling their freedom with the distribution of condoms.
